A series of a technically immaculate short films tied loosely together with embarrassing, ego-tripping child saviour messiah parts then paired with some amazing musical numbers.
Dennis Quaid performs terrificly as the outrageous Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire, a movie that’s a weird mix of taking a piss at its subject – but with a certain affection.
With its formulaic plot that feels like belonging to the 50s rather than 80s, Footloose is an odd, cheesy, dance movie-musical – with one of the best 80s soundtracks out there!
With imagery mixed straight from 80s computer ads and MTV, Electric Dreams is a great as small portions, but as a feature length film it never quite seems to take off.
I take pride in not fast forwarding through movies, even if they’re horrible.
But sometimes too much is just too much. I have no idea why does this movie exist, and I do not really even care.
