#122 Death Wish 4: The Crackdown (1987)

Posted on February 27, 2015July 20, 2017 by admin

Death Wish gets reheated and served to the not so hungry audience one more time.

While Death Wish 3 gets the series back to its roots after the crazy 3rd instalment, it does feel like they’re just milking the franchise.

#121 Death Wish 3 (1985)

Posted on February 27, 2015July 20, 2017 by admin

The third instalment of Death Wish takes the plot, characters and the violence to cartoony levels. In a few passing comedic moments Death Wish 3 works, but as whole it’s still pretty lukewarm experience.

#120 Death Wish 2 (1982)

Posted on February 26, 2015July 20, 2017 by admin

Taking place eight years after the original, Death Wish 2 reheats the leftovers of the first movie, brings virtually nothing new to the table and ends up feeling badly outdated.

#119 No Way Out (1987)

Posted on February 25, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

Although the movie could have done better without the extra plot twist in the end, No Way Out is a smartly written and original thriller that escalates just the right way towards the end.

#118 The Stuff (1985)

Posted on February 24, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

As a movie The Stuff itself remains a bit too rough around the edges to really get into and enjoy, but one has to applaud their effort managing to make a can of yogurt menacing.

#117 My Stepmother Is An Alien (1988)

Posted on February 22, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

Sure, so My Stepmother Is An Alien may be an intergalactic comedy on the borderline of being too ridiculous for its own good – but there’s also a lot of lovable charm in this whole unapologetic silliness to win you over.

#116 The Banker (1989)

Posted on February 21, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

A yuppie banker kills prostitutes for sports and fun in The Banker, a clumsy, but still charming action thriller that has the highest amount of boom mics visible per minute I’ve ever seen.

#115 The Time Guardian (1987)

Posted on February 20, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

The Time Guardian is a rare aussie scifi movie I started watching for its convincing interplanetary set design. Too bad most of the movie takes place here on earth and has absolutely nothing going for it.

#114 American Gigolo (1980)

Posted on February 19, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

Richard Gere plays an upper class male gigolo in American Gigolo, a movie that pairs a character study with a murder mystery – and neither of the aspects end up exactly too interesting.

#113 Extreme Prejudice (1987)

Posted on February 19, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

The best moments in running a blog like this is when you come across a movie you didn’t even know existed and it rocks?

Extreme Prejudice is definitely one of those cases, and much recommended!

#112 She-Devil (1989)

Posted on February 17, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

A wife cheated by her husband and a frivolous romance novelist orchestrates a revenge of a lifetime in She-Devil, a movie that remains Barr’s funniest to date.

#111 Funny Farm (1988)

Posted on February 16, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

Showing Chevy Chase on the top of his game, Funny Farm is a hilarious movie about the city dwellers’ sugarcoated, rosy dreams of the life on the countryside getting on a head-on collision course with the harsh reality.

#110 My Bloody Valentine (1981)

Posted on February 15, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

There’s no actual plot to speak of, but My Bloody Valentine still stands well above average slashers of the time.

Be sure to check out the uncut Bluray version for some gruesome / hilarious killing scenes never seen before.

#109 The Terminator (1984)

Posted on February 14, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

Although it doesn’t hold up in comparison with it’s awesome nineties sequel, The Terminator remains an extremely tight and well-paced scifi action movie – and a true classic.

#108 Popeye (1980)

Posted on February 12, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

I take pride in not fast forwarding through movies, even if they’re horrible.

But sometimes too much is just too much. I have no idea why does this movie exist, and I do not really even care.

#107 The Malibu Bikini Shop (1986)

Posted on February 11, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

The Malibu Bikini Shop, a story about two polar opposite brothers inheriting a bikini shop is perfect sunday afternoon brainless junk food with sun, bikini, boobies and parties aplenty ahead.

#106 Legal Eagles (1986)

Posted on February 9, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

Legal Eagles, Ivan Reitman’s lesser known work between Ghostbusters and Twins is entertaining all right, but the lack of real passion for this project shines through.

#105 Leviathan (1989)

Posted on February 7, 2015September 26, 2017 by admin

Although somewhat rightfully dubbed as an rip-off of Alien and The Thing put underwater, Leviathan is still not a movie to be underestimated as it will keep you thrilled and entertained all the way until those end credits finally roll.

#104 Wholly Moses! (1980)

Posted on February 6, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

Dudley Moore’s biblical comedy Wholly Moses ends up being an incoherent collection of mixed puns and as such feels more like a prolonged Saturday Night Life sketch than actual movie.

#103 Hollywood Air Force aka Weekend Warriors (1986)

Posted on February 5, 2015July 17, 2017 by admin

Hollywood Air Force copies a ton from the various comedies of the era, but avoids the pitfall of futility by having a wonderfully good time doing it all.
